We support our staff with a varied programme of professional development courses. For our academic staff we offer the highly successful PgC Academic Practice, as well as courses to develop research skills. We also offer our staff development programme, which has a wider remit and is not just limited to those with a direct role in teaching and learning. In addtion we deliver: a comprehensive induction scheme for new starters; courses in IT skills; customer service; personal and professional effectiveness; and our specialist Leadership and Management Development Programme.
Learning and Teaching Development
We are responsible for the University’s Learning and Teaching Plan and we support course development from pre-validation through to delivery, focusing on the need for flexible and distributed delivery of learning opportunities. We support staff in achieving their professional recognition within the framework of the UK Professional Standards (UKPSF). The Academic Workload policy is managed by AQD.
