CPD route to UKPSF recognition
Link to the UKPSF CPD route to HEA Fellowship – a PebblePad webfolio proving details of the scheme alongside the resources needed to engage.
The CPD route allows all staff who teach or support student learning to gain recognition for their commitment to professionalism in learning and teaching in HE. It is aligned to the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF), which is a nationally-recognised framework for benchmarking success within HE teaching and learning support.
The CPD route is accredited by the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Individuals who successfully engage with the scheme will gain professional recognition through the award of an HEA Fellowship category appropriate to their role and their level of responsibility for teaching and supporting learning.
All staff involved in teaching and the support of learning at the University of Cumbria and our partner institutions are expected to gain at least HEA Fellowship recognition. The CPD route is aimed at those with more than three years teaching experience and those looking to gain the next category of recognition. For those new to teaching, the PGCert in L&T in HE should be undertaken.
The CPD route involves staff reflecting on their L&T practice and compiling a web-folio of their practice to show how they meet the requirements of the UKPSF at the appropriate level of recognition. Support is offered thought-out this process from AQD and a mentor.
The scheme has recently been re-accredited and details of the new scheme available on this Pebblepad webfolio.
Assessors and mentors
The scheme relies on assessors to make judgments on the submissions against the UKPSF and decide of the criteria is met. Mentors are assigned to those undertaking the CPD route to offer advice and guidance.
You must have a least Descriptor 2, HEA Fellowship to be involved. Please contact AQD for more details.
